Leaving Home: glimpses of A Child's War from Morocco Class
Morocco Class explore the emotions felt by evacuees during World War II
As part of 'A Child's War' theme, Morocco class have been exploring photographs and objects associated with evacuees during World War II.
They used viewfinders to focus in on the details and to look for parts of the photographs or the objects (a suitcase, a gas mask, toys, a letter home and an evacuee label) that told a story or expressed the emotions that might have been felt by the evacuees.
They then drew these glimpses using a range of sketching pencils and graphite sticks to show contrast in light and shade and to create texture.
I'm sure you will agree that the outcomes are stunning! You can see some examples below with all of the finished pieces displayed in Morocco Class.
